Explore direct-farm markets and enjoy sweets-tasting at VISON, Japan's largest commercial resort
About this spot
A massive commercial resort spanning approximately 119 hectares—Japan's largest of its kind—that has become a must-see destination in Mie since opening in 2021. Wooden buildings cascade across the hillside, forming a charming streetscape with distinct areas: Marche VISON (the farm market), Wa VISON (where you can experience Japan's fermented food culture including miso and soy sauce), and Sweets Village with shops from renowned pastry chefs. Gelato, Japanese confections, fresh-baked bread—endless snacking temptations for families who love sweets. The expansive grounds, complete with a hotel and hot spring bath facility, are so vast that you could spend until evening and still not see everything.
Tips
Excellent vehicle access—directly connected to the Taki VISON Smart IC on the Ise Expressway. The parking lot is divided into multiple areas; if your goal is sweets tasting, choose a lot near your target area. The terrain is hilly with slopes, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a smooth-rolling stroller. Popular shops have lines on weekend afternoons, so visit your target shops first. Browse strategically to maximize your experience.
Best time to visit
About 2.5 hours. Afternoon crowds ease off after the midday rush, and the sunset views of the complex are beautiful
