This is the factory direct shop of Ryugetsus, a Tokachi confectioner famous for "Sanpohaku," a baum cake modeled after white birch logs. The sales floor offers "Sanpohaku" and many sweets using Tokachi ingredients, with limited items and bargains unique to the direct shop. A viewing corridor with large windows lets you watch the confectionery manufacturing process—watching baum cakes roll off the line captivates both adults and children. A tea corner in the shop is perfect for a break before your journey home. Located in Otofuke town, between central Obihiro and Obihiro Airport, it's ideally positioned to gather souvenirs at the trip's end. Tips

About 15 minutes by car from central Obihiro, along National Route 241 in Otofuke; spacious free parking. Factory tours are free, but production lines mainly operate during daytime, so visit early if you want to see operations. "Sanpohaku" keeps well and works great as gifts. Fresh pastries require cooling—choose according to travel time.
