Located just outside Asamushi-Onsen Station on the Aoimori Railway, this footbath is free for anyone to use. Sit on a covered bench and soak your feet in the hot spring water, and the tiredness from a full day of walking will gently melt away. Since all you need to do is take off your shoes, you can casually enjoy a taste of the hot spring experience, making it a reassuring treat even for small children who aren't yet ready for a full bath. Its location, perfect for a quick stop while waiting for a train, adds to the charm, with locals and tourists sitting side by side soaking their feet, creating the warm, easygoing atmosphere typical of a hot spring town. It's a spot where parents and children can casually experience the historic waters of Asamushi, said to have been discovered over a thousand years ago, as the finale of their trip.

Tips

Located right in front of Asamushi-Onsen Station, and free to use. There are no towels provided for drying your feet, so be sure to bring your own. Clothing that's easy to roll up is convenient for children. Checking your return train time in advance lets you relax for the full amount of time available.

Best time to visit

About 30 to 45 minutes. Late afternoon, right before you head home, is the best timing, letting you soothe the day's fatigue while waiting for your train
