A roughly 300-meter-long wooden triple-arch drum bridge spanning Tsugaru Fuji-viewing Lake (Mawariaze Ōtamezutsuiki Reservoir), boasting the greatest length among wooden triple-arch drum bridges in Japan. Built using abundant Aomori Prefecture Hinoki cypress, the bridge features three elegant arches in succession, and its graceful form resembles a crane spreading its wings in dance, which inspired its name. From the bridge, you can see Mount Iwaki, known as Tsugaru Fuji, rise majestically beyond the lake's surface. The composition capturing the lake, bridge, and mountain in a single frame is truly spectacular. Known for its good fortune—the "long bridge" reminds one of "long life," so crossing it is believed to grant longevity, making it a fitting destination for couples and partners on commemorative journeys. Tips
About 40 minutes by car from Takayama Inari Shrine. Use the free parking lot at Fuji-viewing Lake Park at the foot of the bridge; an environmental maintenance cooperation fee is required. The bridge's wooden surface can be slippery after rain, so wear comfortable shoes. Clear days with gentle winds are ideal, as the lake surface will reflect the bridge beautifully.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Midday when Mount Iwaki stands out crisply in front-light, and late afternoon when the lake's surface turns colorful are excellent times for photography.
