A Snack Break at a Tourist Village Tied to the Tonan Clan – Lawn Play and Souvenir Shopping at the Farm-Direct Corner

About this spot

A road station located within the Tonan Clan Memorial Tourism Village, which commemorates the history of the Tonan clan in Misawa, where former Aizu clan warriors settled. This is land associated with Hirosawaayataka, a former Tonan clan warrior who opened Japan's first private Western-style ranch, and the Pioneer Memorial Hall within the village documents the history of settlement and development. The farm-direct corner is brimming with fresh agricultural products and processed goods from southern Aomori Prefecture, including burdock and mountain yam. There are also a restaurant and light food corner, making it the perfect spot for a snack break during your drive. Spacious lawns surround the building, allowing children who have been cooped up in the car to play freely while adults enjoy hunting for souvenirs and taking a break.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from downtown Misawa. Free parking is available. Popular items at the farm-direct corner may sell out before evening, so if you have something in mind, arrive early. If the children will play on the lawn, wear clothes that can get dirty.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour. Perfect for an afternoon snack break.
