The Sankeidan mausoleum is a National Important Cultural Property, and its decorative doors feature designs depicting roses and crosses believed to have been brought back from the West by Hasekura Tsunenaga, giving rise to the temple's affectionate nickname as the "Rose Temple." The grounds showcase moss-covered stone gardens and ponds arranged in a heart-shaped design, and simply sitting on the veranda gazing at them feels restorative. Beaded prayer necklace crafting, where visitors select natural stones to create their own, is popular, and the time grandparents and grandchildren spend choosing stones together becomes a cherished travel memory.
