A tourist facility centered on a farm produce direct-sales shop near the entrance to Akiu Onsen. The shop features fresh-picked vegetables and fruits from Akiu and throughout Miyagi Prefecture, rice, processed foods, Sendai souvenirs, and a full selection of Tohoku specialty sweets. An excellent place to finish your journey with souvenir shopping. The grounds also include a food court and a garden featuring seasonal flowers, allowing you to rest and relax after your sightseeing. A free footbath is another welcome feature—soaking your feet after the ravine walk brings a deeply satisfying sense of journey completion. A perfect final stop on an Akiu walk where shopping and rest can be accomplished in one visit.
Tips
About 20 minutes by car from Akiu Great Waterfall and conveniently located on your way back to central Sendai with ample free parking. Vegetables and fruits can become limited by late afternoon, so purchase items of interest when you find them. If using the footbath, don't forget a towel. Business hours may vary by season, so it's wise to confirm in advance.
