A roadside station (michi no eki) located on a hilltop along National Route 47, affectionately known as "Momoka-mi no Sato Koryo-kan." The striking Korean-style architecture—with vermillion gates and traditional tile roofs born from cultural exchange with Korea—stands out against the Yamagata mountain landscape, making you want to stop the car. The merchandise hall is filled with authentic handmade kimchi, Korean ingredients, and local mountain vegetables and produce from Tozawa Village—perfect for family souvenir shopping. From the grounds, you can gaze across the mountains of the Mogami River basin, making it an excellent spot for a commemorative final photo of your journey. While savoring the lingering magic of the boat cruise, family members can each select their favorites—snacks for the children, mountain delicacies for the grandparents—and end your day with a delightful shopping experience.
Tips
Located on the return route toward Shinjo from the Shiraito Falls Drive-in along National Route 47, making it easy to stop on the way home. Parking and restrooms are available, convenient for breaks on long drives. If you're taking home popular kimchi or pickles, a cooler bag is recommended.
