About this spot

An amusement park in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, and the largest in the Tohoku region. It features a wide variety of attractions ranging from thrilling roller coaster-like rides to merry-go-rounds, miniature trains, and a beautifully decorated Ferris wheel, with rides themed after popular Sanrio characters that are especially popular with young children. Many attractions have relaxed height restrictions, making it perfect for a child's first amusement park debut. The location overlooking the Zao mountain range is also appealing—from the top of the Ferris wheel, you can see panoramic views of the Kaminoyama basin's rural landscape. Restaurants, light food shops, and rest areas are scattered throughout the park, so families with young children can enjoy the first half of the day without difficulty.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Kaminoyama Onsen Station, with free parking available. Admission and ride tickets are charged separately (or a free pass is available), so a free pass is economical if you plan to ride a lot. Since it's mainly an outdoor park, don't forget a hat and drinks. It's seasonal and closed during winter, so check the operating calendar in advance.

Best time to visit

Takes about 3 hours. The morning right after opening is less crowded, making popular rides easier to access
