About this spot

This is the general information hub for sightseeing at Mount Daisen, standing at the entrance to the approach to Daisenji Temple. Inside are exhibit corners introducing how Mount Daisen was formed, its beech forest, and the creatures that live there, perfect for learning beforehand. At the counter, you can get the latest conditions of the trails and approach, and pick up a walking map. A large parking lot is right next door, and facilities like restrooms and a shoe-washing area are well equipped, making this the place to stop first as the starting point for a day of walking around the Daisen area. The sight of Mount Daisen towering outside the window builds anticipation for the day ahead.

Tips

If you park at the large Bakuroza parking lot next door, you can walk the entire way from here to the approach. Getting the walking map handed out inside first makes walking the approach far easier to follow. It's reassuring to use the restroom here before setting off.

Best time to visit

About 30 minutes. First thing in the morning, parking is easy to find, and you can calmly gather walking information before the crowds arrive
