A roadside station set by the seaside near Akasaki Harbor along Route 9. The gift shop showcases an impressive selection of dried fish from the Japan Sea, fresh seafood, and marine processed goods—a lineup befitting a coastal town. Kotouura's specialty ago chikuwa, local vegetables, and confectionery round out the offerings, making it the perfect place to conclude your day's souvenir hunt. The restaurant serves seafood dishes if you'd like a light bite. The Japan Sea stretches just beyond, and watching the sea take on the evening light after shopping provides a beautiful finale to your seaside day that began at Nariiishi Beach.

Tips

If buying raw fish or dried goods, bring a cooler bag and ice packs for safety (shops sometimes offer ice). Popular items can sell out in the evening, so arrive early if you have specific items in mind. The parking lot is spacious along Route 9.

Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Arriving before evening offers the best selection and allows a reasonable driving time home.
