About this spot

Located right next to Yura Daiba Ruins (由良台場跡), this roadside station is ideal for a final round of souvenir shopping to close out your trip. Known as the roadside station where you can meet Detective Conan, it also has a well-stocked Conan goods section. Local specialties such as Daiei watermelon and Twentieth Century pears line the shelves alongside local vegetables and processed goods, so you can take the season's flavors home just as they are. The building also features Conan monuments and decorations, letting you soak in the great detective's presence right up to the very end, a touch unique to Hokuei Town (北栄町). We also recommend taking a break at the shop or snack corner and looking back over your photos from the day to close out your trip.

Tips

Daiei watermelon and Twentieth Century pears are mostly stocked in season, so consider it a lucky find if you see them on the shelves. Arranging home delivery lets you take even a large watermelon home without carrying it yourself. It is close enough to share parking with Yura Daiba Ruins (由良台場跡), so visiting both together by car is efficient.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. Stopping by at the end of your trip lets you buy chilled watermelon or pears and head straight home.
