The terminal station of the Wakasakutetsudo Wakasakasen (若桜線), where the original wooden station building from its opening remains in active use. Within the station grounds, a manual turntable for changing the direction of rail vehicles and a water tower are preserved; the entire station facility complex is designated as a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property. You can get a close-up view of the displayed steam locomotive and nostalgic vintage rail cars, and simply walking the platforms and station grounds immerses you in the atmosphere of railways from ages past. The station shop sells railroad merchandise and commemorative tickets, making it a perfect starting point for train enthusiasts. Despite being a small terminal station, it's a rich, immersive space where railroad fans lose track of time.

Tips

Free parking available near the station. Station ground access may require an admission ticket (paid)—check at the ticket window. Visiting at times that coincide with train arrivals and departures makes photography at the turntable and platforms more enjoyable. Weekends and holidays often feature special events.
