The garden, said to be modeled after Kyoto's Sento-go-shoten, features islands floating on a long north-south pond with a refined atmosphere. Sitting in the pavilions scattered along the pond's edge and feeling the breeze across the water, you'll sense the air that once surrounded the clan's honored guests. Flowers and trees of each season are reflected in the water's surface, and the charm lies in the quietness where you can forget the clamor and stroll at leisure. The free admission belies its impressive appearance.

Tips

Located about a 10-minute walk north from Tsuyama Castle, with an easy-to-follow route. While the garden paths are mostly level, be cautious of muddy spots after rain. Free parking is available. Taking a rest on a shaded bench is a pleasant experience.
