A Giant Z Gundam About 7 Meters Tall Greets You at the Hangar
About this spot
A michi no eki (roadside station) along National Route 181 in Miyao, Tsuyama City. Its symbol is a giant mobile suit "Z Gundam" about 7 meters tall, handmade by local residents over many years, standing majestically in its own hangar—a truly impressive sight. The shop stocks fresh vegetables from local farms, handmade processed goods, and seasonal specialties like Tsuyama's famous giant Pione grapes, while the restaurant serves set meals made with local ingredients. For vehicle-loving children, it's an encounter with a "giant mecha" following the locomotives. It's also a popular photo spot and perfect as a rest stop during your drive.
Tips
The parking lot is spacious and easy to access. Viewing the Gundam is free, and the space in front of the hangar is the standard photo spot. The shop tends to get crowded around midday, so it's recommended to shop first when you arrive.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. Morning hours have abundant fresh vegetables at the shop, and the Gundam photographs well in natural light
