Express Gratitude for Safe Travels at an Ancient Shrine's Vermillion Shrine Building

About this spot

An ancient shrine that has long watched over Shunan, said to have been founded through divine revelation from Usa Hachiman Shrine. It once shared deep ties with Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine in Kyoto and attracted devoted followers. The vermillion-painted shrine building, reached by climbing stone steps, stands with majestic dignity and is known for blessings related to warding off misfortune, safe childbirth, and traffic safety. From the elevated shrine grounds, you can survey the Shunan cityscape and harbor area. Just a short distance from the bustling station area, the shrine is enveloped in a serene, reverent atmosphere.

Tips

Stone steps lead to the grounds, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Free parking for worshippers is available. Approximately 10 minutes by car from Tokuyama Station, also accessible by local bus. Ema (shrine tablets) are available at the office reception during business hours.
