The waterfall's name is said to come from the legend that the Heike clan members who fled into Iya played the biwa (lute) beneath this falls, reminiscing about their life in the capital. You can approach near the waterfall's pool, where cool mist and the sound of water provide a refreshing respite—ideal for cooling down your body heated by the thrill of crossing the bridge. As the sun tilts toward evening, light glistens off the water spray, creating a photogenic scene perfect for quietly concluding your day of exploration through the hidden gem region.

Approximately a 3-minute walk via hiking trail from beyond the Kazurabashi bridge. The area around the waterfall has wet, slippery footing, so proceed carefully with each step.
