A beach nestled in a small cove in the southern part of Kaiyo, Tokushima Prefecture, cradled by verdant capes. Known as one of Tokushima's most iconic beaches, it's been selected both for the Ministry of Environment's "Japan's 100 Best Beaches" and "100 Best Clear-Water Beaches." With white sand and calm, crystal-clear waters, the contrast between white sand, blue sea, and green capes is striking. While the beach bustles with swimmers in summer, morning hours offer a quiet walking path with only the sound of waves. Before beginning your day of vehicle adventures, fill your lungs with the fresh Pacific breeze.
Tips
There is a parking lot just off Route 55. No shade on the beach, so don't forget a hat. If you plan to walk along the shoreline, it's reassuring to have water shoes or sandals.
Best time to visit
Approximately 50 minutes. In the morning, the sunlight brings out the sea's transparency, and few people are around for a quiet walk.
