A community exchange facility atop Yashima, featuring a uniquely elegant architecture where a roughly 200-meter-long corridor gently undulates as it stretches along the ridge. The roof is tiled with locally produced roof tiles, and as you walk through the glass-walled corridor, the Takamatsu cityscape and the scattered islands of the Seto Inland Sea shift in appearance before your eyes. Inside, a panoramic artwork depicting the Genpei War's battle of Yashima is permanently displayed, allowing you to compare it with the actual ancient battlefield sprawling below—an experience unique to this location. A café is also on-site, making it perfect for a rest while enjoying the spectacular views. Best of all, admission is free.
Tips
Admission is free. Just a short walk from Yashima Temple, it's ideally positioned as a rest stop during your mountaintop exploration. The glass-walled corridor can receive strong western sun during late afternoon—bring a hat or sunglasses for comfort. The on-site café closes relatively early, so visit it first if you plan to use it.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The afternoon light makes the Seto Inland Sea shimmer brilliantly, and the views from the corridor are most vibrant during this time.
