A prefectural art museum housing works by the master of Japanese painting, Higashiyama Kaii. The art master's grandfather came from Hitsuishi Island, which floats beneath the Seto Bridge, connecting the museum to this location at the bridge's base. The building was designed by renowned architect Yoshio Taniguchi. The elegant structure itself, opening toward the Seto Inland Sea, is a sight to behold. After savoring serene landscape paintings in the exhibition halls, you can view the actual Seto Inland Sea and Seto Bridge from the glass-walled lounge as if they were a single painting. It's a luxurious detour where art and scenic beauty resonate together.
Tips
Admission is an affordable 310 yen for adults. The museum may close for exhibition changes, so check the opening calendar in advance. The lounge café's oceanside seats are the premium spots, so it's recommended to allow time for a relaxing visit.

Approximately 1 hour. In early afternoon, the sea gleams in favorable light, making the view from the lounge at its most beautiful.
