About this spot
The only parking area on the Seto Chuo Expressway where you can actually step onto an island midway across the bridge. Located on Yohima Island, one of the Shiokoku Archipelago islands, the observation plaza offers views of the towering bridge piers of the Seto Bridge looming overhead and a panorama of islands dotting the Seto Inland Sea. The experience of looking up at the bridge from directly beneath it—while the excitement of driving across the sea still fills your heart—is an unforgettable highlight for any transportation enthusiast. Food courts and souvenir shops are available, offering the perfect place to take a closing break with Sanuki udon and Seto Inland specialties. At dusk, the bridge's silhouette and the sea turned crimson create a beauty beyond words.
Tips
Access to Yohima PA is only possible via the Seto Chuo Expressway; entry from general roads is not available. If you plan to return toward Sakaide, tolls will be charged for the section traveled, so confirm your route and fees before departing for peace of mind. The observation plaza is windswept, so bring an extra layer.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours (including the drive over the sea). Around sunset, the bridge and sea turn crimson, providing a fitting finale to your day.
