A natural zoological park in Choushigei, a scenic spot rivaling Kankaakei on Shodoshima Island. The park is home to fed wild Japanese macaques living in family groups, allowing visitors to observe grooming parent-and-child pairs and playful young monkeys up close—not just through barriers. During set feeding times, you'll witness the impressive sight of monkeys gathering in the plaza, thrilling the children. Popular monkey shows featuring cute performances are also held. With a beautiful view of the Seto Inland Sea from within the hillside park, it's a wonderful family spot where you can enjoy both animal encounters and nature walks.
Tips
Avoid making eye contact with monkeys, showing them food or plastic bags, or touching them—these invite trouble. Keep belongings in bags and follow staff instructions. The grounds have slopes, so for small children, carrying harnesses are more practical than strollers.
