About this spot

A memorial hall located in Kamo City, Kita-machi, the hometown of Anpanman creator Yanase Takashi. The hall displays original Anpanman picture book illustrations and large-scale tableaux, with a diorama floor in the basement recreating the world of Anpanman. Photo spots where you can take pictures with characters and character stone statues scattered throughout the outdoor plaza are also popular. The adjacent Poetry and Fairy Tale Picture Book Hall showcases original illustrations from magazines handled by Yanase, revealing another facet of him as a poet and editor. A museum enjoyed across generations, touching both children's hearts and the hearts of adults who grew up with Anpanman.

Tips

Free parking available. Your admission ticket also grants access to the adjacent Poetry and Fairy Tale Picture Book Hall, so it's recommended to allow extra time. The museum features an elevator and is stroller-friendly. The museum shop is more comfortable to browse in the morning before crowds arrive.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Early morning, shortly after opening, tends to be relatively quiet, allowing you to view the original artworks at leisure.
