Scenic Hilltop Vista Overlooking the White Windmill and Yobuko Bridge
About this spot
A park on a hilltop on Kabe Island, reached after crossing the Yobuko Bridge, symbolized by its white windmill. From the green hill, you can see the full panorama of the harp-shaped Yobuko Bridge spread out below, Yobuko's port town beyond, and the vast expanse of the Genkai-nada Sea stretching across the entire horizon. While watching fishing boats come and go, you can relax in the sea breeze. The park also has a rest house where you can take a break while enjoying the view—perfect for unwinding. It's the ideal finale to conclude your sea-treasure hunt that began at the morning market, with a grand panorama of sea and bridge. At dusk, the Genkai-nada turns a crimson hue, revealing a dramatically different expression from the daytime.
Tips
The hilltop is exposed with no shelter, and sea breezes are strong, so be careful your hat doesn't blow away. On sunny days, don't forget sun protection. The rest house operating hours may change, so if you're counting on it for a break, bring your own drinks to be safe.
Best time to visit
Plan about 1 hour. In the afternoon, front-lit conditions make the bridge and sea glow brilliant blue, and at dusk the crimson Genkai-nada is spectacular.
