About this spot

A roadside station along National Route 204 in Shinjimachi, Karatsu City, near the ruins of Nagoya Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The shop displays an array of processed seafood catches from Genkai Sea. The specialty Yobuko squid one-night-dried and dried fish like horse mackerel and Japanese mackerel are the ultimate souvenirs. Fresh-picked vegetables, fruits, flowers, and snacks from local farmers are also well-stocked, making it popular as the community's pantry. The dining area also serves set meals featuring seafood. Located along the route from Hado Cape to Hamanoura Rice Terraces, it's a convenient place to stop for souvenirs during your scenic drive.

Tips

If buying refrigerated items like dried fish, bringing a cooler bag is wise. Popular seafood may run short by late afternoon, so stopping early in the afternoon is recommended. Nearby Nagoya Castle Ruins is a vast historic site with remaining stone walls, so if you have time, it's worth a visit.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 40 minutes. Stopping by early afternoon while inventory remains is most reliable for shopping.
