Free Foot Bath: Experience Beautiful Skin Waters from Your Feet

About this spot

A free foot bath open to everyone, located along the main street of Ureshino Hot Spring Town. Named after Siebold, the German physician who visited Ureshino during the Edo period and documented its hot springs. Ureshino's waters are renowned for their silky-smooth texture and are counted among Japan's three finest hot springs for beautiful skin. The roofed structure means you can enjoy it regardless of weather. Soaking your feet while seated on the edge, you'll feel the warmth gradually ease away the day's walking fatigue. Watching yukata-clad visitors pass by through the rising steam—this is the unique charm of a hot spring town stroll.

Tips

Always bring a towel to dry your feet. Wearing clothing with easily rolled pants legs makes things more convenient. Since this free spot is popular, seats tend to fill up around late morning. Shifting your visit time slightly allows for a more relaxed experience.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 40 minutes. Late morning, when your feet are tired from walking, is when you'll most appreciate the silky warmth of these therapeutic waters.
