Forest Walking Path in a Lush Ravine Where You View the Waterfall from Behind

About this spot

A waterfall nestled in the mountains of Omura City where, true to its name, you can view the cascade from behind. Descend the stone stairs of the walking path and enter a hollow in the rock face where you'll witness the water curtain thundering down before you, enveloped in mist and negative ions. The surrounding area is developed as the 'Uramimi Falls Natural Flower Garden' and is also famous for the mountainside covered in rhododendrons in spring. The lush ravine remains cool even in summer, and a stroll along the dappled forest path offers wonderful forest-bathing. This is a hidden gem of a cool spot.

Tips

The walking path to the falls involves steep stairs, so wear comfortable shoes. The ground can be slippery after rain, so proceed carefully. Mist may splash near the falls, so protect your camera and smartphone. Insect repellent is helpful in summer.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour. On a clear day after rain, the water curtain is at its most spectacular.
