About this spot

A unique donut-shaped submarine aquarium floating gently in the Aizu waters. As you cross the gangway and enter the vessel, windows below sea level allow you to observe fish swimming in Amakusa's waters as if taking an underwater stroll. Inside, zones themed around the world's seas welcome colorful fish. In outdoor pens, dolphins thrive in spacious conditions, with popular programs including feeding and interaction. Because this facility floats on the sea, the gentle rocking and scent of salt are part of the experience—a place where both children and adults can engage all five senses to feel Amakusa's marine environment, a truly enchanting aquarium.

Tips

As the facility floats on the sea, the pier and vessel interior may sway slightly. Dolphin interaction programs often have limited capacity; apply immediately upon arrival if you wish to participate. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip.

Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Time your visit to coincide with dolphin program schedules as you tour the facility.
