Located in a corner of Kirishima-ga-oka Park overlooking Kinko Bay, this is Japan's largest rose garden with approximately 35,000 roses planted across an 8-hectare hillside. The garden is organized into themed sections where flower arches and gazebos line small pathways. As you walk, different fragrances from each variety tickle your nose in succession. Among the roses is "Princess Kanoya," an original cultivar born in Kanoya. From the hilltop, you can also enjoy views of Kinko Bay framed by the flowers. During peak blooming seasons in spring and autumn, the entire garden is enveloped in a flood of colors. In this flower paradise that transforms with every step, begin your day in spectacular fashion.

Tips

The garden is expansive with rolling terrain, so comfortable walking shoes are essential. Since there are few shaded areas, a hat and drinking water are recommended. On weekends during peak season, the hours just after opening offer the most leisurely viewing experience. The rose soft-serve ice cream at the gift shop is popular—consider stopping by for a refreshing break.

Approximately 2 hours required. Early morning, just after opening, offers the best experience with fresh flowers and fewer visitors.
