The main shop of the confectionery maker that created ube sweet potato tarts, Okinawa's iconic souvenir, marked by a distinctive red-tiled building reminiscent of Shuri Castle. Through the glass-walled viewing corridor inside, you can freely observe the manufacturing line where vivid purple ube paste is piped onto tart dough and batch after batch is baked. The shop displays freshly baked tarts and an array of ube sweets, and sampling while selecting souvenirs is a delightful experience. On the seaside is a restaurant where you can enjoy Okinawan regional cuisine such as Okinawa soba while gazing out at the East China Sea. Factory tours, lunch, and shopping all happen under one roof, making it a reassuring stop on rainy days too.

Tips

The restaurant can get crowded with tour groups during lunch hours, so securing your seat first before the factory tour is smoother. Fresh-baked tarts are sometimes available to enjoy at the shop counter, so check with the staff. Boxed souvenirs can take up space, so an eco-bag is handy.
