A cape in Onna Village renowned as a sacred diving and snorkeling destination, famous for its celebrated spot known as the Blue Cave. From the cape's observatory, you can take in the stunning gradient of the coral reef sea as it transitions from shallow emerald to deep cobalt blue offshore. The water's exceptional transparency allows you to see fish swimming below even from atop the cliff. The stairs below lead to the entry point for divers heading to the cave, and watching the steady stream of divers entering the sea is a pleasant pastime in itself. The site also features a shop and a casual food corner, making it an ideal rest stop during your drive.
Tips
The parking lot is paid and can get crowded in the morning with snorkeling and diving tourists. The observatory is just steps from the parking area, but note that areas near the stairs are wet with seawater and slippery, so watch your footing. Since this is primarily a viewing stop, binoculars will make spotting fish all the more enjoyable.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. The sea's transparency is most striking during midday hours when the sun is high, making the observatory views particularly vivid.
