700-Meter Long Beach Walk with Airplanes in View
About this spot
A long beach stretching approximately 700 meters, developed in the Toyosaki district of Tomigusuku City. Despite being only about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport, it features pristine white sandy beaches and clear emerald shallows, ranking among Okinawa's largest artificial beaches and beloved by local families. Because the airport runway is nearby, you can walk along the beach while watching planes take off and land—a unique experience here. Behind the beach, landscaped lawns and walking paths offer opportunities to enjoy Okinawa's atmosphere without swimming. It's a refreshing detour between Umikaji Terrace and Ashibinaa.
Tips
For walking at the water's edge, wear sandals or easy-to-remove shoes to keep sand out. There's little shade, so hats and sunscreen are essential. Even in summer, swimming areas and seasons are restricted, so this course focuses on leisurely walking and photography.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. Late morning, when the high sun makes the sea color most vivid.
