Watch approximately 5,000 fireworks up close from the expansive grass

About this spot

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, approximately 5,000 fireworks will launch above Minna no Harappa (みんなの原っぱ) in Showa Kinen National Government Park for one hour beginning at 7:15 PM. From the expansive, unobstructed 180,000 square meter lawn, fireworks burst nearly overhead, allowing you to feel a scale and impact unique to this location and not found in metropolitan fireworks shows with your entire body. Watching fireworks while lying on the grass is a way to enjoy the Tachikawa Festival all its own. The successive bursts of starmines and large shells in the finale create a spectacular display using the entire night sky, providing a climax worthy of ending your summer day.

Tips

Check the official Tachikawa Festival executive committee announcement regarding whether the show will proceed in case of bad weather. After the show ends, the park's various exits and Tachikawa Station and Nishi-Tachikawa Station become very crowded. After the finale, it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow on the grass for a while, then head home once the congestion subsides. Using Nishi-Tachikawa Station (JR Ome Line) on the way back is also effective for dispersing crowds.
