The Edogawa Riverbank, venue for the Edogawa Ward Fireworks Festival, becomes filled with food stalls from evening on the festival day, surrounded by the festive atmosphere. Enjoy classic summer festival fare such as yakisoba (fried noodles), shaved ice, and karaage (fried chicken) at the food stall area while securing a good viewing spot before the performance begins. The vast grassy and sandy riverbank is perfect for spreading out a leisure sheet and enjoying the show comfortably. 毎年8月に江戸川区の江戸川河川敷で開催される、約14,000発の大花火大会です。打ち上げ数の多さと多彩なプログラムで関東有数の規模を誇り、広大な河川敷から遮るものなく見上げる花火は迫力満点。川面に映る光の帯と空に広がる大輪の組み合わせが、河川敷ならではの醍醐味です。19時15分の開演から20時20分のフィナーレまで、休む間もなく打ち上げが続く65分間は、家族の夏の記憶に深く刻まれるひとときになります。対岸の市川市側からも観覧でき、多くの人で河川敷が埋め尽くされる夏の大イベントです。

Tips

荒天時は中止または延期となるため、当日の開催可否は江戸川区の公式発表で必ず確認を。終了後は都営新宿線篠崎駅・一之江駅への道が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後は河川敷でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するか、徒歩圏内の複数駅への分散を検討してください。帰り道の河川敷は足元が暗いため、スマホのライトや小型ライトがあると安心です。

Where: 会場内(江戸川区側河川敷)は屋台・露店の出店が原則禁止。対岸・市川市側(市川市民納涼花火大会会場、市川駅南口〜大洲防災公園の動線)に数十〜100店舗規模の屋台・キッチンカーが出店

Tips

Roads around the venue and nearby stations become extremely crowded on the day of the fireworks festival. Shinozaki Station (篠崎駅) and Ichinohe Station (一之江駅) on the Toei Shinjuku Line are the nearest, but early arrival is recommended as congestion is severe from 2 hours before the start through the return journey. Temporary restrooms are provided but expect long lines, so use them early. Be careful with valuables and always take your trash with you.
