Akogigaura Beach, the launch site of the Tsu Fireworks Festival, is a gently curving sandy beach facing Ise Bay. A calm, shallow sea spreads before you, and it is cherished as a swimming beach in summer. On the day of the fireworks festival, spectators begin arriving in the early evening, so it is wise to arrive during this time to secure your viewing spot on the beach. Spread out food from nearby stalls or provisions you've brought, and enjoy a leisurely meal refreshed by the sea breeze. As the sun dips toward the horizon, the waterline of Ise Bay turns golden with the sunset, creating a pleasant atmosphere before the fireworks.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Tsu Station, or by local bus toward Akogigaura. On the festival day, surrounding roads become congested; using public transportation or arriving early is recommended. Procure food and drinks early from nearby sources (food stalls and convenience stores become crowded before the opening). Locate restroom facilities while it is still light.
