About this spot

Just a short walk from Nabari Station, the old town district that once thrived as the castle town of the Tōdō Clan (藤堂藩) remains to this day. Around Honmachi (本町) and Shinmachi (新町), white-walled merchant houses and warehouses stand in rows, and a leisurely walk through narrow alleyways lets you feel the historical atmosphere. Buildings dating from the Edo period house various shops, and the calm, nostalgic atmosphere is perfect for an afternoon summer stroll. This area has been developed as a tourist hub with plenty of informational signage, so families visiting for the first time can walk without getting lost. Learning about Nabari's historical character during the afternoon hours before the fireworks festival adds depth to your full day.

Tips

開催時間は当日発表の情報で必ず確認してください(時間未定のため)。荒天時の開催可否は名張市または大会主催者の公式情報で確認を。終了後は近鉄名張駅方面への道が大変混み合うため、フィナーレ後は河川敷で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するのがおすすめです。帰り道の足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマートフォンのライト機能を活用しましょう。

Tips

About 5 to 10 minutes walk from Kintetsu Nabari Station. No special admission fee required. In midsummer, the sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and water. The narrow streets in the old town district mean baby strollers can be folded for easier movement in some areas.
