This park is set on Goro-ga-take Mountain, standing at 301 meters above sea level on the southern edge of Maizuru City. The view from the mountaintop observation platform is so stunning it's called "Kinki's Matsushima." The Maizuru Bay, nestled safely within a complex ria coastline, and the small islands scattered throughout the bay, offer a beauty that amazes first-time visitors. From here you can also clearly see the eastern district coastline where tonight's fireworks will launch, making it ideal for getting a sense of good viewing locations. The park has well-maintained walking trails, and climbing the observation tower offers a 360-degree panoramic view.

みなと舞鶴ちゃった花火大会は、舞鶴市・東地区海岸を会場に毎夏開催される港町の夏の風物詩です。穏やかな舞鶴湾の上空へ打ち上がる約4,000発は、リアス式の入り江という地形が音を反響させ、都市部の花火とはひと味違う迫力で楽しめます。湾内の静かな水面に花火の光が映り込む幻想的な光景も、海上花火ならではの見どころです。2026年は7月26日(日)19時30分から20時10分まで、約40分間の打ち上げが予定されています。潮の香りと波音の中で家族と並んで見上げる花火は、夏の思い出の1ページにきっとなります。
Tips
荒天・波浪時は中止または延期となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、車での帰宅は花火後に少し時間をおいてから移動するのがおすすめです。帰り道は照明が少ないエリアもあるため、スマートフォンのライトで足元を照らしながら安全に移動してください。

About 15 minutes by car from Maizuru Port Tore-tore Center. There is a drivable road to the mountaintop with parking facilities. The observation platform has free admission. Summer afternoons have strong sunlight, so bring a hat and drinks. Evening haze can sometimes occur, so clear afternoon hours are recommended. Bring sunscreen as the exposure is significant at this elevation.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Visiting during clear afternoon hours with good visibility allows you to fully enjoy the panoramic view of Maizuru Bay.
