About this spot

Built in 1845 as a private villa for the Takeo Nabeshima clan, this historic stroll garden spans approximately 150,000 tsubo and features scenic ponds and green walking paths. The symbol of the garden is the Gunkashiyama rock face towering vertically, and the composition incorporating this magnificent borrowed landscape is truly impressive. Summer offers many shaded routes and pleasant forest tunnel passages. While the garden is famous for cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring and autumn leaves in fall, the contrast of deep green and rock mountain creates a uniquely summer landscape. Close to Takeo Onsen and a standard pairing for Takeo tourism.

「ふるさと大町納涼まつり花火大会」は、佐賀県杵島郡大町町の夏を締めくくる納涼まつりの花火です。2026年8月13日(木)18:00〜21:00、大町町民グラウンド（ボタ山わんぱく公園）から約1,100発が打ち上げられます。炭鉱の歴史を伝えるボタ山を背景に夜空へ咲く花火は、この町ならではの風景で、地元の人々に長年親しまれてきた夏の風物詩です。盆の時期に重なるお盆の夜の花火は、帰省した家族が揃って眺める特別な時間でもあります。フィナーレの連発が夜空を染め上げる瞬間は、1日の締めくくりにふさわしいクライマックスです。

Tips

荒天時は中止または順延の場合があるため、当日の開催可否は大町町の公式発表を確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路が混雑するため、急がずに出店エリアでしばらく過ごしてから移動すると安心です。JR大町駅を利用する場合は帰りの列車時刻を事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗いエリアがあるため小さなライトがあると便利です。

About 5 minutes by car from Takeo Onsen. Admission for adults is approximately 600 yen (fees may change, so please check official sources). The garden is extensive, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Summer sun is strong, so remember a hat and hydration. The Omachi Town Civic Ground is approximately 30 minutes away by car.
