About this spot

The Aioi City Museum of History and Folk Culture (相生市立歴史民俗資料館), located near Aioi Bay and within walking distance from Port Park (ポート公園), offers exhibits where you can learn the history and culture of the region, including the Aioi Pairon Festival (ペーロン祭). Pairon is a competitive rowing boat event that originated in China and Nagasaki, and in Aioi it began during post-war reconstruction to become a festival representative of the city today. Understanding that tonight's fireworks festival is the eve celebration of this festival deepens your appreciation for the fireworks display. Visiting with children and discussing 'Why is Pairon held in Aioi?' while viewing the exhibits broadens understanding of the local culture. With its compact layout, viewing takes just a short time, making it ideal for a stop before evening spot-securing.

Fireworks details

Name:

Date & time: 5/30 (Sat) 19:50–20:40

Venue:

Shells: approx. 5,000

Tips
