Around Karatsu Station, eateries and takeout shops serving local seafood line the streets. Karatsu is a port town facing the Genkai Sea, well stocked with fresh fish like Yobuko squid and dishes made with local ingredients. Since the area around the venue gets crowded on the evening of the fireworks festival, it's a smart plan to finish dinner near the station early before heading to the viewing area. Getting food to go and eating by the river is fine too, but a warm sit-down meal in a restaurant helps build up your stamina better.

Tips

Take the bus or drive from Niji-no-Matsubara toward Karatsu Station. Traffic around the venue gets congested from the evening on the day of the fireworks festival, so it's important to finish getting food and drinks around this time. Convenience stores and restaurants start getting crowded early, so it's reassuring to enter sometime in the 5 PM hour. The viewing area is within walking distance.
