The Nusamai Bridge (幣舞橋) spanning the mouth of the Kushiro River is a stone bridge known as the symbol of Kushiro City. From atop the bridge, you can take in a panoramic view of where the Kushiro River flows into the Pacific Ocean, as well as the harbor landscape, with sculptures representing the four seasons adorning the bridge's base. While the bridge is famous for its spectacular twilight views, the daytime also offers beautiful scenery with shimmering light on the water's surface and an open view toward the sea. Since tonight's fireworks will be launched near this river mouth, taking time during the day to confirm the terrain and directions will help you choose the best viewing spot for the evening. Walking a short distance along the river from the bridge's base will bring you close to Kushiro's harbor and fishing boats.

釧路大漁どんぱく花火大会は、釧路川河口付近を会場に約10,000発が打ち上げられる、北海道を代表する大規模な花火大会です。川の水面に映り込む花火の光が二重の絶景をつくり出し、海に近い河口ならではの開放的なロケーションで花火が夜空いっぱいに広がります。9月の釧路の澄んだ夜空は透明度が高く、花火の色彩が鮮やかに映えます。フィナーレに向けて連続して打ち上がる約10,000発の迫力は圧巻で、北海道の秋夜にふさわしいスケールの大きな締めくくりです。

Tips

観覧は河口付近の河川敷や周辺の広場から。会場周辺は開始前から混雑するため、19時の開始30分前には場所を確保しておきましょう。9月の釧路の夜は気温が10度前後まで下がることがあるので、防寒着は必須です。終了後は周辺道路が渋滞するため、車の場合は時間差で移動を。公共交通機関の最終便も事前に確認しておきましょう。

Tips

About 10 minutes' walk from Kushiro Station. Entrance is free and you can cross the bridge anytime, 24 hours a day. The bridge can be quite windy, so a light jacket or shawl is recommended for comfort. Convenience stores and restaurants are nearby, making this an ideal place to stop by as a preview of the fireworks festival venue on the day of the event.
