With approximately 14,000 launches, this festival boasts an overwhelming number of fireworks, with starmine and large shells bursting one after another to fill the night sky. Using the wide Edo River as a screen, spectators gather from the Tokyo side across the river as well, making it a large-scale fireworks festival. Fireworks enjoyed in the night breeze crossing the river are a long-established summer tradition in Ichikawa. The 1 hour and 5 minute program is packed with entertainment, and the finale's rapid-fire display is a spectacular sight with the entire sky engulfed in light.

Just after the finale, the nearest stations and bus routes become severely congested; lingering on the riverbank to enjoy the afterglow before heading home can help ease congestion. The riverbank is dark on the return route, so watch your footing—a small light is reassuring. In addition to JR Ichikawa Station and Honhachiman Station, dispersed return via Keisei Ichikawa Mama Station is also recommended.
