This is the Edo River (江戸川) riverbed in the Osu (大洲) area, the main venue for the fireworks festival. Families and groups of friends gather across the vast lawn area, and from evening onward, food stalls line up to build a lively summer-festival mood. The Tokyo skyline spreads out on the opposite bank, and one of the highlights is watching the scenery shift from sunset colors to a night view as the sun goes down. Arrive one to two hours before the show starts, secure your spot with a picnic sheet, and enjoy shaved ice or fried noodles from the food stalls while you wait. The breeze blowing across the river brings a pleasant coolness to the evening.
Tips
About a 20–25 minute walk from JR Ichikawa Station (市川駅) or Motoyawata Station (本八幡駅), or take a local bus. There is no parking on the day of the fireworks, so public transport is essential. Use the restroom early, since long lines form right before the show starts. Follow the organizer's guidance for claiming a spot, and do not enter any off-limits areas.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours. Enjoy watching the sky change color from sunset to night from the riverbed
