About this spot
The Matsudo Fireworks Festival (松戸花火大会) is one of the leading summer fireworks festivals in Chiba Prefecture (千葉県), launching about 12,000 shells from the Edo River (江戸川) riverbed. From large star-mine sequences to rapid-fire bursts, the fireworks spreading across the full width of the river are overwhelming in scale when viewed head-on. The band of light reflected on the water's surface and the sound echoing along the river are pleasures unique to a riverbed venue. The program builds gradually toward the finale, making for a moment the whole family can enjoy while cheering together. It's a fitting star of the summer night to close out a day spent walking around since morning.

Launch time is 7:15–8:20 p.m. (per the official announcement). The event is cancelled, not postponed, in case of severe weather. Check the festival's official website for the day's go/no-go announcement. Since the route back toward Matsudo Station (松戸駅) gets very crowded after the show ends, it's recommended to linger on the riverbed for a bit to enjoy the afterglow of the finale before moving at a staggered time.
