The Fukiage Cosmos Flower Field spreading across the Arakawa River floodplain in Kounosu is one of the most renowned cosmos viewing spots in Saitama Prefecture, peaking from early to mid-October each year. The vast floodplain is covered with pink and white cosmos in full bloom, creating a beautiful contrast with the autumn blue sky, and is perfect for family walks. Since this is the same Arakawa floodplain that will be the venue for tonight's fireworks festival, visiting during the day helps you familiarize yourself with the festival atmosphere beforehand. Because the event coincides with the fireworks festival, the area is typically bustling, allowing you to enjoy the flowers leisurely amid the festive excitement before the festival. Free admission makes it easy to visit on a whim.

2026年10月10日(土)17時30分から20時まで開催される、こうのす花火大会の観覧です。鴻巣市の糠田運動場および荒川河川敷を会場に、約20,000発もの花火が打ち上がる大規模な花火大会で、埼玉県内でも指折りの規模を誇ります。広大な荒川の河川敷は周囲に遮るものがなく、打ち上がる花火を真正面から見上げられる開放感が格別。秋の10月開催ならではの澄んだ夜空に映える花火の色鮮やかさも、夏の大会とはひと味違う美しさです。スターマインや大玉など多彩なプログラムが2時間30分にわたって続くフィナーレは、夜空を埋め尽くす連続打ちで圧巻のスケール。河川敷に広がる音の迫力とともに、家族みんなの記憶に残る秋の夜になるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を必ず確認してください。終了後は会場周辺と最寄り駅が大変混雑します。混雑を避けるためにフィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから移動するか、大会公式の交通・帰宅案内に従って分散帰宅を心がけましょう。10月の河川敷は夜間の気温が大幅に下がるため、防寒着の準備を忘れずに。足元は暗くなるため小型ライトがあると安心です。

About 15 minutes on foot from JR Fukiage Station (吹上駅), or convenient access by bus or car from Kounosu Station. Blooming conditions vary by year, so check official Kounosu City information before visiting. The surrounding roads become congested on the festival day, so plan to arrive early. Comfortable sneakers are recommended for walking.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. The light is softest and cosmos colors are most vibrant from late morning through early afternoon.
