The fireworks finale of the Reiwa 8 Iruma Air Base Summer Cooling Festival. From 8:20 PM for approximately 30 minutes on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, approximately 900 fireworks light up the expansive sky above the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Iruma Base. The area around the base has few obstructions with open sky stretching out, making the fireworks appear large and clear. Each burst is accompanied by sound and light that colors the summer night, drawing cheers from the watching children. The fireworks displayed on this special stage of a Self-Defense Force base have a unique atmosphere, and are eagerly anticipated each year by many families as a summer tradition of the region.
