The fireworks are scheduled from 8:00 PM to 8:40 PM (per the tourist association's announcement). The event proceeds in light rain, and in the event of severe weather it will be postponed to August 18. Check the Kitsuki City Tourist Association's announcement for whether the event will proceed on the day. Since the surrounding roads and parking lots get crowded afterward, enjoying the lingering atmosphere at the venue for a while after the fireworks end can help you avoid the worst of the traffic. Since it will be dark underfoot on your way back, prepare something like a smartphone light.
