The upstream area of Oita River Benten Bridge is the fireworks launch venue. The grassland areas on the riverbed and along the embankment are classic viewing spots where leisure sheets begin to spread starting in the evening. As the sun dips lower, the breeze crossing the river surface becomes pleasant, and the wait time with views of the sunset and river landscape carries the charm characteristic of Oita's summer. Secure dinner from the food stall area and enjoy it leisurely on your leisure sheet while awaiting the opening. This time before the main fireworks event is precious downtime for the family to spend together.

Tips

A 20-25 minute walk from JR Oita Station, or take a route bus toward the Oita River area. Better viewing spots fill up early, so it's recommended to secure your spot around 5 PM. Temporary restrooms are provided but expect lines, so go early. Procure beverages from a convenience store in advance for peace of mind.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours 20 minutes required. Enjoy the time as the Oita River's sky color transitions from sunset to fireworks.
