Situated near the north bank of the Oita River, Oita Prefecture Gokoku Shrine (大分県護国神社) is a quiet shrine grove cherished by Oita residents. Being close to the Oita River Benten Bridge upstream area, the venue of the fireworks, you can complete your visit and walk to the viewing location. On the fireworks festival day, food stalls often appear near the shrine grounds, making it a convenient stop for purchasing dinner. 2026年8月29日(土)19時30分、大分川弁天大橋上流の夜空に約8,000発の花火が打ち上がります。川の両岸から見渡せる広い河川敷が会場で、川面に映る逆さ花火と夜空の大輪が重なる景色は大分ならではの美しさです。スターマインや大玉がリズムよく連続し、フィナーレの連発は大分の夜空を一気に染め上げます。川風が心地よい夜の大分川で、家族みんなで見上げる60分間は、夏の終わりを飾るにふさわしいひとときです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表で確認を。終了後は大分駅方面の道が大変混み合うため、フィナーレ後は川畔でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめ。足元が暗くなるのでスマホのライトや小型ライトがあると帰路に安心です。

Tips

A 15-20 minute walk from JR Oita Station, or take a route bus and get off at the "Gokoku Shrine-mae" (護国神社前) stop. Admission to the shrine grounds is free. It's only a few minutes' walk to the Oita River riverbed where the fireworks will be held, but expect congestion on the day, so allow extra time for your move.
