Held annually on July 25 during the Tenjin Festival's main ceremony, this dedication fireworks display ranks among Japan's three greatest festivals. Approximately 3,000 fireworks launched from upstream on the Okawa River illuminate both the night sky and its reflections on the water. The scene combines crowds gathering on bridges like Tenjin Bridge, large and small boats crossing the river, and spectators and food stall lights packed along the banks—creating Osaka's signature summer spectacle. The display runs for approximately 80 minutes from 7:30 PM to 8:50 PM, culminating in an overwhelming finale of rapid-fire bursts that flood the river and sky with light.

Viewing is free, though paid viewing seats are available. The display may be cancelled in severe weather; check the official Tenjin Festival information on the day. The areas around JR Sakurano-miya Station and Osaka Tenmangu Shrine Station become very congested after the display ends. Waiting in the park briefly after the finale before departing is recommended. Watch your footing in darkened areas on your way out.
